About Caitewick Western Stables
Caitewick Western Stables was founded in march 2005. Owners Henk and Karolien Hendrikse have made it their goal to breed good quality paint and quarter horses that can add value to the European Western riding scene. They carefully chosen there broodmares and stallions, they all have a great pedigree, good confirmation, beauty and are very good minded. All mares and stallions are X-ray 100% sound. There stallions are also tested on Herda and they all have tested Herda N/N that means that they are free off Herda!

How they raise there foals
Karolien and Henk try to give a good childhood to the foals. The contact with humans in the beginning is very important. Walking with halter, learning how to give feet, going for a trim every 6 weeks, being brushed and more. Offcourse they have to learn from the other horses too. Playing together, having respect for older horses which teach them also to have respect for humans. This is the way to get good minded and healthy happy horses.
It is mostly Karolien who is involved with the horses and handles all breeding management and office work. She has been riding western style since 2005, mainly reining. Because off the support from Henk and others who are commited to her, she can achieve her goal.
Karolien maintains contacts with renowned ranches in the US, which keeps her informed on the latest training techniques and the most up-to-date developments in breeding . She is also always looking for sales horses in the US that could be interesting for the European market. Karolien tries to visit the US a couple of times a year to visit her contacts and if possible to train with them.
At this moment Karolien is competing in Amateur Reining and has good show horses at the barn. She hopes with these talented horses to make a personal growth in the art of reining.
