About Caitewick Western Stables

Caitewick Western Stables was founded in March 2005. We have made it our goal to breed good quality paint and quarter horses that can add value to the European Western riding scene. We carefully chosen our broodmares and stallions, they all have a great pedigree, good confirmation, beauty and are very good minded. All mares and stallions are X-ray 100% sound. The stallions are also tested on Herda and they all have tested Herda N/N that means that they are free of Herda!

How they raise there foals

We try to give a good childhood to the foals. The contact with humans in the beginning is very important. Walking with halter, learning how to give feet, going for a trim every 6 weeks, being brushed and more. Of course they have to learn from the other horses too. Playing together, having respect for older horses which teach them also to have respect for humans. This is the way to get good minded and healthy happy horses.

It is mostly Karolien Hendrikse who is involved with the horses and handles the breeding management and office work. She has been riding western style since 2005, mainly reining. Because of the support of people who are commited to her, she can achieve her goal.

At this moment she is competing in Amateur Reining and has good show horses at the barn. She hopes with these talented horses to make a personal growth in the art of reining.
