Lil Ruf Peppy: Lil Ruf Peppy was started by Gary Putman. When the handsome sorrel was a two year old, Tom McCutcheon ride him on his futurity year, Lil Ruf Peppy was 4th at the All American Congress Open Futurity with McCutcheon in the saddle. After a solid first round at the NRHA Futurity, the stallion stumbled and fell to his knees in the second go. That bad stroke of luck ended his futurity season, but Lil Ruf Peppy continued to turn heads. The following year, McCutcheon rode the stallion to the NRHA Open Derby Reserve Championship and the Limited Open Derby Championship. The young stallion was retired to stud with earnings of nearly $30,000. At the 2006 NRHA Futurity, Lil Ruf Peppy was honored for becoming one of the few stallions that have sired earners of over $2 Million!
